In this age of constant bombardment of anything you can possibly image… it seems like it can be easy to let your guard down. Some people call that "de- sensitizing…"
The more you see violence, the less it bothers you? Well, for me, that's only partly true. I am visual by nature and what I see has always gotten "embedded" in my brain …hard to forget!
My artists type friends I found in college seemed to get this…others would decidedly not get it.
"For heavens sake Diane, it's only a movie!"
And , I have to say, that same conversation goes on in my house to this day. My husband is not affected like I am…(hence "guy movie" ) and it's just better to let him have his turn (kind of ) and put my earbuds in.
But he agreed with me once he saw Gary Ryan Blairs "The Law of Exposure." Take a look, and please pass on. 

We've all heard from childhood that "the grass is greener on the other side of the fence"... i.e. not YOUR side. The truth is that all green grass, on your side or not, has some faded patches, some yellow and maybe some brown. That's actually desirable...some growth just needs to take place. That may mean...

Like Gracie, we all such creatures of habit. While Gracie will probably never change, sometimes I think it's just as hard for us humans. Ideas are introduced or episodes occur in childhood that we never forget. They replay over and over, even though we may not realize it. This affects how we think and who we chose to be around as adults.
